There are various Audio and COMAND APS systems available in the Mercedes Benz R Class. Although the ML / GL is the same platform as the R class, and many parts are the same (such as CD changer), it seems that COMAND APS units have different part numbers.

Units differ between countries, with the COMAND-APS systems being completely different - even map disks won't work between the units. The US unit has an optional, retrofittable, navigation unit and are made by Apline. The European COMAND units all have navigation but can not play MP3 and are made by Becker.

Mercedes regularly "replace" a given part number with a new one, the latest ones are lower down the list below. Sometimes more than one "current" part number is given in the MB catalogue.
